Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities

The pharmacy technician is responsible for the day-to-day operations of all prescription needs during designated pharmacy hours. A vested employee is needed for accountability and oversight in the pharmacy, to create and adhere to all protocols in relation to pharmacy management. Regular analysis and understanding of metrics will be needed to gauge pharmacy efficiencies. 

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge in pharmaceuticals (drug names, application, regulations, medical abbreviations, and terminology)
  • Awareness of vendor promotions and marketing strategies
  • Medical math proficiency
  • Able to understand and input medical notes 
  • Familiarity with Cubex software and data entry
  • Impromed proficiency
  • LifeLearn proficiency
  • Ally DVM proficiency
  • VetSource proficiency
  • Excellent customer service skills demonstrated in previous roles
  • Ability to troubleshoot various scenarios and advocate equally for client-based needs as well as organizational needs

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year in a veterinary assistant role, CSR, or RVT role
  • Employment and attendance in good standing within the past 6 months (no disciplinary actions)
  • Ability to obtain an RVT or VACSP license upon hire, if not obtained prior. If the application is not approved job position may be forfeited (FBI and Department of Justice background checks are needed)
  • No convictions for drug-related offenses
  • Commitment to ongoing education on pharmacy-related topics (attending CE when applicable) 
  • Demonstrating an “owners” mentality to advancing the processes in pharmacy with fiscal and operational awareness
